I’ve created a monster

A book monster, that is. 

This is why my bookshelves are a mess.  I never trained my children to take one book off the shelf, read it, then put it back and get another book.  It never even occurred to me to do so.  I mean how inconvenient it is to curl up on the couch or bed with a book, finish it and then GET UP and leave one’s cozy nest to get another book.  It always made more sense to me to go to bed prepared with all the books I wanted to look through within easy reach.

This worked well for me in my pre-children days.  But now, my children, ALL FOUR of them, have picked up my reading habits.

And I have no idea how to reform.  Them or me.
