The kids had their Christmas Recital at the Deerfield Retirement Home Monday evening. It was Rachel’s first recital and she was very nervous but determinedly focused. She flawlessly performed 2 solos.
We ended the recital with a group performance —- “Do You Hear What I Hear?” Sidney and Rachel shared the piano, while Lincoln played his strumstick and and Sid and Prairie sang. I was delighted that Prairie got to take part and that my crew got to experience working together to create music and hopefully bless others.
But the highlight of the evening was Great-Grandmother Louise. When our 6:30 pm start time came and went while we waited for a late piano student to arrive, Grandma filled in by playing some Christmas songs. Her only stipulation for playing, as usual, was that everybody had to sing.
You set a beautiful, humble example, Grandma Louise.
