Clinging to summer

The summer is slipping through our fingers.

.

.

When we realized it was almost August, and that we had done very little relaxing, fun summer-y type things with the kids, Sid and I immediately made plans.  Heading off to the John’s River was one of the plans.

.

.

Sid skipped rocks and girls tubed.

.

.

The boys swam, snorkeled and spent considerable time trying to catch very large fish with their bare hands.

.

.

All that water play required some refreshment.

.

.

Then more tubing.

.

.

and snoozing . . . .

.

I am so delighted with this picture . . . .a picture of my 10 yo daughter boldly looking the camera in the eye.  My shy little girl who always found eye contact or camera-contact so painful has come a long, long way.
