Prairie’s Birthday

.

This is a late blog posting.  Prairie’s birthday was last month, October 22th.  My baby turned 9.

.

She was all smiles as she unwrapped a homemade gift from her sister.  As always, Rachel uses what is on hand to make something creative.  In this instance, she used a sock and strips of fabric to make a sock horse for Prairie.

.

My girl loves her birthday cards.  She keeps all of them and enjoys rereading her cards during the year.

.

.

Sidney got a hug for his gift.

.

.

Grandpa Louis and Grandma Sandy gave Prairie her favorite condiment  —- ketchup!  I missed the preceding shot, where she tipped her head back and with ketchup bottle poised above her lips, pretended to glug-a-glug the whole bottle.

.

.

Prairie was surprised and excited when her brother, Lincoln, carried out his large gift, wrapped in cotton fabric.  What could it be?

.

.

It was a giant stuffed dolphin to cuddle with.  Lincoln had his hands full trying to lift his little sister and her dolphin into a bear hug.

.

.

Grandma Sandy thought she could sneak a birthday doughnut before we sang “Happy Birthday,” but she was unaware that the photographer witnessed her theft until the incriminating evidence had been caught on camera.
