I have wanted professional photos of my girls for a long while, but haven’t managed it for one reason or another.
My artist nephew, Ryan, has offered to draw my kids if I can get him photos. He is very talented, and I really want those drawings, but I haven’t managed to make THAT happen either.
For one specific reason.
.
My kids are goofy. They take goofy photos. I swear they don’t know how to act in front of a camera.
Okay, maybe they act this way all the time.
.
.
Really? Why?
Why?
Ryan, can you make nice drawings from these photos?
.
.
Good grief. Rachel looks like she is about to cry. She isn’t. She is just being . . . .weird.
I moved the girls further into the trees to get the sun out of their eyes.
.
.
The change of location didn’t help.
.
.
Of course, they are wearing their ragged outdoor clothes. Although Prairie is wearing pajama pants. She is more into comfort over style.
.
.
“Girls, please look at the camera and give me a NORMAL smile.”
They try. God bless them. They try.
.
.
Prairie thinks rolling her eyes upward and throwing her arms wide is “normal.” And it is normal for her. The goof.
.
.
Almost. The giggles are slowing down.
But giving way to very strange, very slow blinking — argh!
.
.
Oooh, oooh, almost . . . .Rachel’s eyes are half closed.
.
.
My girls. Unpolished. Unconcerned with outward trappings. Just having fun!
.
.
And loving each other.
