While Sid and the boys dug postholes and worked to reconstruct our broken trampoline, Prairie hung out and distracted. She distracted brother Sidney right out of posthole-digging and into photo-shooting.

Who knew a girl could have so much fun standing in a posthole?

How many faces can she make?

Charming . . . .

This one reminds me of something . . . .

Sidney and Prairie’s rendition makes much more sense. Munch’s painting doesn’t give a backstory for his man’s scream. The guy is taking a nice walk along a pier, ocean breezes buffeting his hairless head and a sunset in the distance. What is there to scream about?
Prairie, on the other hand, has lost her legs inside a posthole — that is scary. And her imagination whispers that the posthole can swallow the rest of her too.
Plus, she has pigtails, which earns her extra points for hair maintenance and overall cuteness.
